Jumpa lagi dengan kami, lama ga nulis maklum lagi sibuk ngurus kerjaan. Dikesempatan ini akan kami bahas dan review Digital Loudspeaker Management System (DLMS) merk dbx seri Driverack PA (Copy). Kenapa ditambahkan kata Copy? ya karena produk yang kami pakai bukan yang asli made in USA, tapi versi KW-nya. Walaupun versi KW-nya, chip processor-nya aseli dbx punya kok. Jadi soal kinerja dan feature tetep sama plek, ga jauh beda dengan versi originalnya. Yang membedakan adalah durabilitas dan tentu saja harga. Ya harga ...!! bisa sepertiga bahkan seperempat harga yang original.
Menggunakan sebuah DLMS dalam sistem kita, akan mempermudah pengaturan tata suara dan menyederhanakan routing signal dari mixer ke Power Amplifier. Disamping itu jumlah investasi alat bisa kita sederhanakan, dan tentu saja akan mengurangi dana investasi pembelian alat. Kalo sebelum adanya DLMS, kita akan membutuhkan equaliser, crossover, compressor, limiter, sub harmonic synthesizer, fungsi delay untuk keperluan FOH per sisi. Kalo pada umunya satu panggung dilengkapi dua sisi FOH, silahkan daftar tersebut dikalikan dua.
Jadi pada dasarnya fungsi sebuah DLMS adalah menggabungkan kemampuan daftar peralatan tersebut diatas menjadi satu alat yang ringkas. Namun perlu diketahui tidak semua merk DLMS memiliki semua kemampuan tersebut. Ada juga yang memiliki kemampuan lebih kompleks yang melibatkan beberapa DLMS sekaligus dan komputer.
dbx Driverack PA memiliki fitur equaliser (parametrik dan grafik), crossover, compressor, limiter, sub harmonic synthesizer, fungsi delay. Bisa juga disisipi modul auto eq, feedback supressor dll (keterangan lebih lanjut baca manualnya disini).
Trus gimana performa dbx KW?
Seperti yang sudah kami tulis diatas, sekalipun ini produk bukan original, chip processor nya aseli bikinan dbx. Oleh karena itu, fungsi dan performanya kurang lebih sama. Kok bisa, biasanya kan kalo produk KW sama asli pasti ada perbedaan. Iya, pasti ada perbedaan, terutama durabilitasnya. DLMS merupakan produk yang bekerja secara digital. Mungkin analoginya sama dengan komputer. Komputer yang branded (bermerk) macam Lenovo, Acer, Asus, HP, dll mampu mengerjakan tugas komputasi tertentu. Namun kita pun bisa merakit sendiri komputer dengan spek yang sama, dan juga bisa mengerjakan tugas yang sama pula. Ambil contoh ketika menjalankan aplikasi photoshop.Komputer branded bisa melakukan edit foto dengan hasil yang sama dengan komputer rakitan kita. Bukan berarti hasil editan komputer rakitan lebih jelek kan? Atau misal file mp3 yang kita putar di komputer tersebut tentu akan menghasilkan suara yang sama bukan?
Satu hal yang perlu jadi perhatian adalah supply tegangan AC, jangan sampai kurang dari 220V, jika tidak maka siap-siap unit akan restart.

Menggunakan DLMS di sistem yang kita bangun memberikan keuntungan tersendiri, selain routing signal yang lebih ringkas, dana investasi peralatan tentu akan lebih hemat. Sekalipun yang kita beli adalah bukan yang original, ternyata performa yang dihasilkan sebelas duabelas dengan yang original. Iya mas Marko, mungkin analogi saya kurang tepat, mungkin lebih tepatnya antara Sams*ng Gal*xy S6 dengan versi KW nya.

Mas Roghibul Hasan, sebenarnya DLMS tidak ada bedanya sama aksesori lainnya, jadi tidak ada istilah khusus untuk power built-up saja. Pemakaian DLMS bertujuan untuk menyederhanakan routing signal audio. Karena kompleksitas routing sudah terjadi didalam DLMS itu sendiri secara digital.

Maaf bang, Driverack PA yang di atas, belum support untuk dikontrol secara eksternal (via PC). Jika milik anda sudah ada port untuk koneksi ke PC, maka software dan driver bawaan harusnya kompatibel sama win 7.

Saya sendiri belum pernah mengapkikasikan dlms di sound rumahan. Namun sebagai perbandingan, tata suara di gedung bioskop, gedung pertemuan juga menggunakan dlms.
Tata suara di dalam ruangan dan di luar ruangan tidak jauh berbeda. Jadi, sekalipun hanya untuk sound rumahan, tentu dlms akan bekerja memaksimalkan fungsi komponen yg ada, dan hasilnya saya yakin lebih baik drpd crossover bawaan perangkat.
Namun pertanyaannya adalah, apakah sebanding? Kalo harga bukanlah suatu masalah, maka sah2 saja.

Menurut saya tidak perlu, kenapa?
1. Di dalam dlms sudah terdapat 2 tingkat eq, pre crossover dan post crossover. Pre crossover berupa parametric eq, sedangkan post crossover berupa qraphic eq. Ini sudah lebih dr cukup.
2. Penambahan eq sebelum dlms berpotensi merubah karakter suara dari main mixer.
Ini menurut pendapat saya. Namun kalo anda menambahkan eq sebelum dlms juga gapapa, boleh, selama itu sesuai dengan selera anda.
